News from the Quilting Shop

Text Box: We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We are ready to sew up a new year. We are receiving new stock . Great new fabrics are arriving from Hoffman, Moda, Benartax, Thimbleberries, RJR, Jinny Beyer, and other great designers.  We have new things happening at Quilter’s Quarters. Quilter’s Quarters are partnering up with KACL. We will be called the Sewing Circle. We will be helping out in the community and helping people learn to sew. If you are interested in the Sewing Circle and becoming a sewing partner, please contact Donna at Quilter’s Quarters or Whitney Allen at KACL (46-5240).

The $5.00 block of the month is every 4th Saturday of the month. BCS mystery quilt is every 3rd Saturday of the Month. A new club has been added to the schedule called “The Strip Club” that will start the 1st Saturday in February and will continue every other month. There will be prepackaged kits consisting of the pattern and a bundle of coordinated fabric strips available The kit doesn’t include all of the fabric to make the quilt. You may want to take the background and accent fabric from your stash. The Strip Quilt will make it’s debut at 10:00 am on the first Saturday of the month. If you sign up ahead of time for the strip club you will receive a coupon for $10.00 off your next purchase of fabric. There will be all types of fabric available for the club-cotton, flannel or batik, each bundle with consist of 46-50 strips and the pattern makes from a throw to a king quilt. Remember if you sign up by the end of the month before the club you will receive a coupon. Thimbleberries has introduced a new line of fabric called House and Garden. There are 4 new projects available. The first will start in February with a table runner. You will be able to sew at Quilter’s Quarters. This series has been very popular. Please sign up ahead of time so that the kits can be made up.

Well, the new class schedule has finally arrived. There is something for everyone. We will be offering day and evening classes. If there is a class or technique that you are interested in please ask and I will try and get the class together for you.

Husqvarna Viking owners class will be offered. This will help you learn your sewing machine, new feet and techniques. This will let you try and explore all the great features on your machine.

We will be having a Soup and Sew night. Come and sew on your own projects and enjoy a bowl of soup with friends. Soup, beverage and dessert will be provided all you need to do is bring in your projects. UFOs are perfect for this event.

All Christmas fabrics are on sale at 50% off, minimum meter cut. There are some other fabrics on for 45% off , as well as the $2.99 baskets. This sale is for the month of January. Come in and check out the selection

before it is too late.

Husqvarna Viking has introduced a fabric mover with stitch regulator, great for free hand quilting, thread painting and following quilting designs. If you would like a demo come in for one.

I will be off to Nashville for convention in March. I will get to see all the new products and techniques. I will come back with some great ideas.
